Become A Donor

The need for organ, eye and tissue donors is on-going, so join Donate Life America by participating in one of our many observances throughout the year! Together, through spreading the word and educating others about donation, we can take small steps each day towards saving more lives. Below are downloadable images you can use throughout social media and links to other resources for you to utilize within your local and online community.

We all have felt rejection and acceptance, joy and desperation, love and loss. Which is why Live On Nebraska approaches organ and tissue donation with empathy, passion and humanity. Our first thought is always, “Let me help you,” and our second, “Let your donation help another.”
We are one of 58 organ procurement organizations throughout the country. We are an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to saving and healing lives through organ, tissue and eye donation. Our service area includes all of Nebraska and Pottawattamie County, Iowa.
As an OPO, we have three main responsibilities:

  • Recover organs and tissues for transplantation
  • Maintain the Donor Registry of Nebraska
  • Provide education on the importance of donation and grow the donor registry

Nebraska Medicine and our research and education partner, the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), share the same mission: to lead the world in transforming lives to create a healthy future for all individuals and communities through premier educational programs, innovative research and extraordinary patient care.

People come from around the country and the world for the unique expertise available from Nebraska Medicine. We trace our roots back to 1869 with the founding of Omaha’s first hospital. In the decades since, our experts have built an international reputation for breakthroughs in cancer care, organ transplantation and treatment of infectious diseases.

Nebraska Medical Center is the state’s largest hospital and has been named best in the state by U.S. News & World Report for nine years in a row. For seven straight years, Nebraska Medicine has also been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s list of 100 Great Hospitals in America.
